I hate myself for every moment I can’t help myself, for every time I wake Stephen to help me move my legs so I can sleep, every time my younger sister helps me in the bathroom, every time I can’t prepare my own food or take a bath on my own. The list goes on and on, but I hate myself the most for not being able to show loved ones how much I love them.
I can always say “I love you”, but it never feels like enough. I want so badly to give a helping hand and not feel useless, but I simply do what I can and hope they see how much I love them.
People around me never seem to mind helping me with what I can no longer do and I feel so very, very loved.
